After so much struggle & whatever (excuse me for the words for not flowing), I have been given entry into the OZZYLAND!!!
That particular day while writing this post I just couldn't move along since, first the words weren't flowing & secondly I was running short of time. There were lots of things which apparently I wanted to write but I simply couldn't. It apparently ended up like the way Magnus got his visa but this was I dunno maybe the worst ever I thought. There are few steps involved in applying to any Ozzy Uni. In each & every step I endured problems which lead to me think whether ever am I going to sustain the whole process & land in the land of ponting & hayden.
First Step was to determine if I wanted to get myself a life outside cricket which itself was a painstaking decision. After about eight years in the game, I didn't know what the hell to do. So when I finally arrived at a decision that yes I am going to make that decision the problem of the university started. For me if I were to a masters outside
Now UTS had a GMAT cut-off for its MBA students who have scored below a certain mark, I was standing on the wall in between that limit. I was just a 0.5% short, which itself proved that I had to attend the interview season to get an assurance of my offer. The agent which I choose first didn't have UTS for their EDU fair so I had to go to IDP's fair to attend the interview. The lady who interviewed me was one Ms. Tracy Taylor Dean of the B-School which is called Graduate School of Business (GSB). When she looked at my marks & faced me all she said was "I am afraid that you may have to give GMAT". That sounded like hell to me not because of the reason of the exams, because of the reason that I will have to wait for another two years doing that. (okey i m not arguing that gmat is a waste). Then came the most important time when I took out the other file which I had carried to the interview. Fifteen minutes after talking about what’s there in that file I was holding an conditional-offer (degree certificate) in my hand. When I sat in my car my dad was curious enough to ask me what happened in the interview & how did I get an offer due to the GMAT factor, all I said was "Unmaiya pesineen" (like rajini in batsha).
After producing the degree certificate which itself was in the way between me & the full-offer letter, the wait begun. UTS took their own time & after two weeks told this student doesn't appear in our rolls. I was like "what the f%$#". Then that got resolved in its own way after a weeks time. All this was happening & I was slogging my ass off at Accenture. So every days wait was a day gone by kinds. When I finally received the full-offer letter I was sure that the trouble is not ended but has begun.
Visa file, the nightmare in this whole process. My dad is a responsible guy. Let me tell you that much. He's not one bit like me. Handles anything & everything with almost precaution & care. Such a guy lost the file which contained his IT returns, employment docs, etc. Can you believe it? Just over a month to go for the visa file & our man (my poppy) lost these important documents. I said to myself "Bharath find a way out". So for two days I was running from one Income Tax department building to another making a million phone calls. Then when I went to Tiruppur (where he works) my mum found the file. She searched for something else ( I think molagai podi) & got this which always happens when you search for something else. So thankfully even the EDU loan was set rite & with lot of help from my CA I lodged my visa.
Two weeks back the students who had filed their visas along with me received theirs. So that was the beginning of yet another headache. After some more struggle, faxing, photocopying, attending funerals, attending bday parties, training, running around I actually managed some time for a book. Sydney Shelton The stars shine down, when my mobile rang. I picked it up & answered. The cal was from idp & my counselor at the other end asked me if I had come in the morning. I did visit them in the morning to check the status of the visa, more importantly wanted to know if the problem was solved. Then the words came out of her mouth "Bharath u got
