Have you ever had a bad boss? Unless you’ve been exceptionally lucky in your career, chances are you’ve suffered under a bad boss. Chetan Dhruve has written a paper that explains why all bosses are dictators by definition. He adds that because bosses are dictators, your health suffers, and the organization suffers too – both the Challenger and Columbia space shuttles occurred because subordinate engineers were too scared to confront their bosses. Chetan says that rather blaming bosses, it’s the dictatorship system at the office that is at fault.

Chetan Dhruve has worked for companies such as IBM and Cisco Systems. He has an MBA from Cass Business School in London.

Update: I have become a masthead of teakada.com

"Teakada, in Tamil Nadu, is a hotspot for the common man. A place where people get together for a hot cup of tea/coffee and catch-up the latest on Politics, Movies, Local News, affairs of the State and beyond. Be it 5 AM or 11 PM you could always find folks hanging around these teakada(is).

The teakada typically had/have wooden benches laid out in the streets where a range of newspapers and magazine lay around, inviting patrons to while away their time, while they sip away the brew (mostly 'single china' tea).

Teakada.com is an attempt to recreate such a meeting point, online. Blogs here are primarily about Madras, Tamil Nadu, Tamil Movies, Tamil Politics and India."
